Islamabad (January 09, 2018): Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday that there was no court in the country which can trial the dictators.
“Judges welcomed every martial law. Whenever there was a military coup in the country, no one would know about it but this is not the case today,” he made the remarks while meeting a group of lawyers led by Naseer Bhutta in the presence of Maryam Nawaz, Punjab Governor Rafique Rajwana and PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq.
The three-time prime minister demanded a trial for military dictators, in the same way that he was tried in the Supreme Court. 
Deposed PM cautiously said that he has no differences with the Supreme Court but with certain judges who did not decide [his case] on merit.
“We have to see what happened to people in 1971, when the country was broken up into two. They were the same people who worked day and night with Quaid-e-Azam to create Pakistan. Even today such games are being played,” said the former prime minister.
The PML-N chief claimed that he is not accused of even a single rupee worth of corruption, adding that he was held accountable from his college days. “And when nothing came up they made Iqama [foreign work permit] the reason of disqualification instead of Panama,” said Nawaz.
Nawaz lamented that PTI chief Imran Khan’s five-year record was deemed enough [during his disqualification case in the Supreme Court] while his record from his school days from 1962 was sought.
He added that he respects the courts and asks that they respect other institutions in return. Speaking to media representatives after the hearing, Nawaz Sharif complained that what was happening in the accountability court was not being reported as it was.
Nawaz Sharif said that dictators were permitted to amend the Constitution of Pakistan and were welcomed with garlands.
He said that nobody in the country is ready to hold self accountable while reasons of why state is troubled are as evident as a writing on the wall. The PML-N chief said that the nations who do not hold selves accountable have to witness a day like this.
Representatives of the people are disqualified and derogatorily sent home, Nawaz complained adding that no court has been established in Pakistan that could hold dictators accountable.
PML-N chief said that he appears before an accountability court along with his daughter for hearings of corruption references against him. There seems no logic to the corruption references filed against him with accountability courts, he complained.
He said that the nation should know why he is being subjected to a trial. He said that he wants to ask the top court to explain the allegations against him. Nawaz Sharif sarcastically said that he pays salute to the judges of the apex court who declared Imran Khan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief ‘Saadiq and Ameen’.
Had he done corruption worth paltry Rs 100, he would not have been able to look the people in their eyes, Nawaz claimed. The ousted premier said that he would have quit politics if he had resorted to corruption worth Rs 100.
The former premier said that his children were held accountable, his grandfather was posthumously held accountable among other family members but nothing was proved against him and was disqualified on a residential permit.
On the other hand, an opposition leader is confessing to transactions worth lacs of British pounds and to owning Niazi Services Limited.
Judges of the top court did not consider his confession ever, PML-N chief complained.
Earlier, talking to workers, Nawaz said that judges should speak through their judgments.
The former premier, in his talk, also said that a campaign of revenge has been launched against him, adding that, “I will face every conspiracy”.The PML-N chief also stated that the standard of justice should be the same for everyone.
“The country should benefit from the sacrifices that I have rendered,” he added. The former prime minister also said that he believes in the supremacy of the Constitution.
Nawaz arrived at Punjab House earlier after attending the corruption hearing against him in the accountability court.
