“No One Has Seen Bhuttoism As Close As I Did”: Zardari

Sanghar (July 06, 2017): Former President Asif Ali Zardari has taken a hard hit at the government by calling out the ruling party and declaring the officials ‘fools’ who know how to make steel but lack the vision to rule.

While addressing to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers in Sanghar district, he complained that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took his party for granted, adding that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government should show tolerance if it is facing conspiracies.

“We have supported you (Nawaz Sharif) before and will support again,” he stated.

He said that the Bhuttoism is the name of spirit and an ideology.

“No one has seen Bhuttoism as close as I did. Only we know the problems of masses as we are sons of the soil, ” he said while addressing a gathering here.

While referring to the Sharif’s without taking their name, he said that they (Sharif’s) only know how to sell iron and not running the government. Those who did not scare of Zia’s Marshall Law cannot afraid of the NAB today, he said.

“I ask Mian Sahab to show courage like a lion as you have acquired a symbol of it,” Zardari advised the prime minister. We extended support to you when you faced a conspiracy in the past, but later you did not give us due value and started victimising our friends.

I was put behind the bars during the Musharraf government and Mian Sahab went abroad leaving me in jail, where I spent eight years.

He said that martyrdom is our legacy. He said former military dictator Gen (retd) Musharraf calls himself as commando but had left the country.

We are not commandos but have more spirit than a commando, Zardari claims.

We want to see the democratic government to complete its five-year term.

He prayed for the completion of five years of the assemblies and suggested PM Nawaz to step down if there is any trouble regarding the Panama case. The PPP Co-chairman said his party was looking forward for the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report, which is due on July 10.

Zardari also pointed out Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) by telling there is a difference between playing cricket and leading the nation. On a question, he said ex-President General (retd) Pervehad escaped accountability and was seen in ‘interesting’ photos from Dubai. “He felt back pain during ‘jail’ talks,” he added. Moreover, he claimed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to have biased intentions. Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah was alongside him in the Sindh district, and he also addressed the gathering.

Leader of the Opposition Khursheed Shah, addressing the same gathering, said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif needs to inform the people and the country who all are conspiring against Pakistan.

“Nawaz Sharif needs to let the people know, if he does not, he will become a criminal in the eyes of the country,” said Shah.

He urged Nawaz to tell the people regarding the conspiracy so that other political parties stand up in support of democracy.
