ISLAMABAD: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has said that government will not let the country’s economy and industries come to halt while difficulties will definitely erupt in changing the system.
Lahore Chamber of Commerce had invited Chairman FBR Shabbar Zaidi to express their apprehensions wherein traders and business bombarded a number of complaints to the Chairman NAB and they threatened that they will close their businesses if the trend was not stopped to calling traders a thief.
They also complained to the Chairman FBR that the system of taxes which the government is going to implement is very complex.
Replying the questions, The Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue, Syed Muhammad Shabbar Zaidi said the government is taking necessary steps to promote industrial and commercial activities in the country.
Talking to newsmen in Lahore on Saturday, he said drastic measures have been initiated in the budget to stabilize the economy.
He said traders and entrepreneurs are facing a lot of problems and FBR is committed to resolving all problems. He said FBR is also trying to redress grievances of traders regarding custom duty.
The Chairman FBR has also announced taking grand operation against smuggling and trade through the border of Afghanistan.
