KARACHI: Senior political leader Farooq Sattar has said that he and his accompanies will not let residents of Lines area homeless.
Talking to media, Dr Farooq Sattar, on a visit to Lines Area here on Sunday said that “Wadera’s of Karachi Water Board and feudal lords of Sindh government are sending notices to people of the area. ”
Farooq Sattar said that on one side Minister for local bodies Saeed Ghani said “he will not demolish wedding halls” on the other hand “people of the area are being served notices for vacating houses.”Farooq said that he wanted to remind the minister that KWSB is also part of his ministry.
He vowed that he will not let masses of the area homeless like they saved people of Martin, Pakistan quarters in recent days.
The former leader of Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) said that if there is a problem in a water pipe than change it while smashing and vandalizing is not a solution.
He alleged that the government is using Supreme Court orders wrongly adding that the government is doing wrong against those who are legal owners of their properties.
Talking about Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar, he said that the Mayor after taking votes from the same locality the Lines area and went missing afterwards.
Farooq said that the residents of the Lines area have paid as many as 350 million rupees back in 1981.
He said that the series of vandalism will not be tolerated, besides that he also expressed support to wedding halls association and said that bulldozing of halls will not be tolerated as well.
He alleged that people are being unemployed by MQM-P formed in 2018. He said arrest those who allowed construction of the area which exists in Sindh building control state department and Karachi Water and Sewerage Board KWSB.
Farooq Sattar, who also remained mayor of the city in the 1980s, demanded an immediate granting lease of 550 houses in the area.
