Islamabad (August 24, 2017): The meeting of the National Security Committee is underway with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the chair.
Chiefs of all the three branches of the armed forces and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee are also present in the meeting in which the strategy to give an effective reply to American President Donald Trump’s Afghan policy will be chalked out.

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif have already asked the US to acknowledge sacrifices and contributions made by Pakistan in war against terrorism.
The meeting held at Pm House here is also being attended by Defense minister Khurram Dastagir Khan, Defense Minister, Finance Minister, Interior Minister, federals ministers, and other high authorities.
It may be mentioned here that this is the second meeting of the top security body this month. During the first NSC meeting on August 16 issues pertaining to Indian atrocities in held Kashmir, unprovoked cross-border firing and killings after Independence Day was celebrated in occupied valley by oppressed Kashmiris were discussed.
