ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday recorded statements of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani in a case pertaining to selling of official vehicles.
Gillani appeared at Anti-graft body’s Old Headquarter building in the federal capital where he was questioned by NAB’s Combined Investigation Team.
NAB team quizzed Former Premier regarding the selling of bullet-proof official vehicles to Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari which were gifted by foreign leaders in PPP’s tenure when Gillani himself was holding the office of Prime Minister.
During the question-answer session, Gillani claimed that selling any vehicle from store-house is legal.
“It is not my business to know how the payment was done”, he said when inquired regarding receiving money of sold cars via fake bank accounts.
Talking to media after appearing before NAB team, the senior politician revealed that he was questioned regarding four official cars.
“Nawaz Sharif was given car on his demand. What I did was legal. According to NAB’s law, I passed five years in prison and later got acquitted with honour”, he added.
