KARACHI: Law Enforcement Agencies have stopped the head of Omni Group of Industries Khwaja Salman from leaving the country.
Last night, Rangers had lodged FIR against owner of Omni Group of Industries and close aide of Asif Ali Zardari, Anwar Majeed and head of the group Khwaja Salman on recovery of weapons from the offices of Omni Group offices.
Sources said that when Omni Group’s head Khwaja Salman reached Karachi Airport on wee hours of Sunday to leave for Dubai, but he was stopped by LEA officials.
Earlier, on Sunday night Rangers lodged cases against owner of Omni Group of Industries Anwar Majeed, who is close aide of former president Asif Ali Zardari, and head of the group Khwaj Salman in Saddar and Mithadar police stations.
The cases were registered on the behalf of Sub-inspector Muhammad Riaz Sarwar. The cases were registered under weapons, explosive and anti terrorism acts. The Rangers had recovered a huge cache of arms, ammunition and important document during raids at the offices of Omni Group of Industries located at I.I. Chundrigar and Hockey Stadium. Rangers had taken five suspects in the raids but later all the suspects were released.
