Opposition again stages walkout from NA against PTV’s ‘blackout’

Islamabad (May 30, 2017): Joint Opposition in the National Assembly on Tuesday announced that  the opposition lawmakers would hold the house’s  ‘session’ outside the Parliament House tomorrow and would present their own budget in the ‘session’.

The combined opposition on Tuesday stated walkout from the National Assembly against the government for not telecasting Opposition Leader’s speech by the state-run television.

Addressing a press conference along with other leaders of the opposition parties in the National Assembly, Shah said that the government wanted to telecast talks of only of its choice and liking on PTV. He added that the government wanted that the opposition speeches should not be shown live on PTV.

Lashing out at the government, Shah said that they only cared how to protect and secure their rule and had no care whosoever for the poor masses of the country.

He added that yesterday opposition’s voice was muzzled in the National Assembly.  Shah said that they would present pro-people budget in the ‘session’ to be held outside the Parliament house tomorrow.

Shah Mahmood Quraishi of PTI said that the government had show one aspect in the budget. He added that the opposition was not allowed to point out shortcomings and weaknesses in the budget.

He added that the opposition lawmakers would debate the budget tomorrow outside the Parliament House.

On the occasion, the joint opposition strongly condemned the prolonged and worst load shedding being carried out in Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
