Over-Billing Issue: JI signals sit-in on May 17, if demands not met

Karachi (May 13, 2017): Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeemur Rehman warned K-Electric and Sindh government that JI would hold another sit-in against over-billing and unscheduled load shedding, if the issue is not resolved.

“If K-Electric will not stop sending overcharged bills, JI will take to street till the issue resolved,” he said while addressing to protesters at Namaish Churangi, which was held against the over-billing and unscheduled by the K-Electric in Karachi today.

He said that after the expected meeting with Governor Sindh on May 17, JI will announce its future strategy and likely to hold a big sit-in and people will not return home, till the K-Electric return back the amount charged illegally.

“JI doesn’t want unrest in the city but the six to ten hours load shedding will not be acceptable, ” he said that the movement against K-Electric’s atrocities with the people of the port city would be continued in Ramzan till the logical end.
