Islamabad (March 27, 2018): The Public Accounts Committee expressed dismay over the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) performance and seeking all details of cases pending summoned the chairman NAB justice retired Javed Iqbal on April 10.
The decision was taken in PAC meeting presided over by Syed Khursheed Shah in Islamabad.
The audit officials briefed the meeting over the irregularities of Rs 660 million in aviation division and told that the case was handed over to NAB four months before, however the issue could not be solved due to delay in chairman NAB appointment.
On which member PAC Shafqat Mehmood expressing anger said that usually NAB should wrapped up the case within four months, however cases have been shelved after reaching in NAB custody and asked why NAB could not solved the cases within four months.
Chairman PAC Khursheed Shah also dissatisfied with NAB performance and sought complete details of cases pending with NAB and summoned chairman NAB for briefing over delay in resolving cases.
“If there is need of any legislation to wrap up cases instantly, we will ready to do to make the procedure swift,” he suggested.
