Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Lt. General (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch said that Pakistan wants to resolve all the conflicts in the light of UN resolutions thus International community should not forget their responsibilities related to worldwide migrants including Afghan refugees.
While addressing to first two-day World Summit on Human Terrain in Istanbul, Abdul Qadir Baloch said that Pakistan has given shelter to most refugees in the world thus International community must not forget its obligations related to the new problems of refugees.
He added that Pakistan has always apart of UN efforts in maintaining peace, while several Pakistani forces have lost their lives in UN peace mission, adding that Pakistan is aware of the risks of climate change.
On the other hand, Abdul Qadir Baloch met UN’s Deputy High Commissioner for refugees, discussed matter related to repatriation of Afghan refugees, according to sources he has expressed hope that Afghan refugees would return to their country voluntarily.
On this eve, Deputy High Commissioner of UNHCR payed tribute to Pakistan and nation who has been giving shelter to a large number of Afghans from four decades and assured to continue their support to Pakistan over Afghan refugees matter.
