Karachi (March 23, 2018): In line with tradition, the citizens of Karachi gathered at Quaid’s mausoleum late on Thursday to witness the dazzling fireworks show that enlightened the sky in the port city to mark the Pakistan Day celebrations.
While a spectacular fireworks show was also ushered at Minar-e-Pakistan Lahore, attracting hordes of spectators from everywhere to the historic monument.March 23rd has enormous significance for Pakistan and its citizens. In historical context, it was the day when the idea of a separate homeland-Pakistan crystalised into a struggle and a mass movement on the part of Indian Muslims.
Pakistan Day would be celebrated across the country with zeal and zest today. Special programmes and seminars would be organised by different organisations to mark the occasion across the country.Sri Lankan President Maithrepala Sirisena will attend the Pakistan Day celebrations today ( Friday) as chief guest on an invitation extended by President Mamnoon Hussain.
The federal government has made elaborate arrangements to welcome President Sirisena, as he will witness the National Day military parade, air display and pageant at Shakarparian Parade Ground.The day would dawn with a 21-gun salute in provincial capitals. While the national flag would be hoisted at all government buildings and departments.
While aerobatic maneuvers of fighter jets of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) will also delight a large number of people in a spectacular way outside the Parade Avenue in Islamabad to celebrate the mega event of Pakistan Day.
