ISLAMABAD: The nation is celebrating Pakistan Day today (Saturday) across the country with traditional zeal and fervour.
A joint military parade was held at federal capital Islamabad’s Parade Ground in this regard.
Various airplanes belonging to Army Aviation and Pakistan Air Force demonstrated aerobatic feats for the audience. Similarly, combat and attack helicopters, as well as skydivers of airborne units from the three armed forces, will also showcase their skills.
The parade also showcased cultures of all the four provinces. Cultural delegates and floats from Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir will feature during the ceremony.
Various contingents from Azerbaijan, Bahrain, China, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and Turkey also participated in the Parade.
An investiture ceremony will also be held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in the evening where the President of Pakistan will confer civil awards on individuals demonstrating feats in different fields of science and arts.
One hundred and seventy-one personalities, including some foreigners, have been selected for this year’s awards.
