Pakistan Defence Made Undefeatable on May 28: Nawaz Sharif

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif said that May 28 was an unforgettable day in the history of Pakistan when its defence made unconquerable.

The former premier made these views in his message on the eve of 21th Youm-e-Takbeer – the day when the country became a nuclear power.

“On this day the defence of the country was made invincible when Pakistan emerged on the world map as a nuclear power,” the PML-N official Twitter handle quoting former prime minister as saying.

On May 28, 1998, Pakistan became a nuclear power after it successfully carried out five nuclear tests at Chaghi, in the province of Balochistan during the tenure of the then prime minister Nawaz Sharif.Image result for Pakistan Defence Made Undefeatable on May 28: Nawaz Sharif“Youm-e-Takbeer is a day of nation’s honour. When the day is a sign of nation’s unprecedented valiantness and bravery, it also gives a message to the country’s enemies that there would be dire consequences in case of any misadventure against Pakistan,” he added.

The PML-N chief also claimed in a statement released from Lahore’s Lakhpat Jail that external forces hatched conspiracies against him for making the country an economic power in the shape of CPEC due to which he was being punished.

“However in the reply of such a historic step, he bears exile from country and sentence behind the bars,” he mentioned adding that despite the offer of billions of dollars he had not to bow down before international powers.“Following the nuclear blasts, the PML-N government has detonated the economic bomb by signing China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) agreement, however world powers did not bear such major economic accord and started conspiracies against me and today I am behind the bar in response to my services to the nation,” he said.

He vowed that his principal stand is that Pakistan should remain sovereign, Pakistan should remain sovereign but he had been punished in the past over that narrative and being punished.

He pledged, “However I had never made any compromise over the sovereignty of Pakistan and will not do it in the future as well and will continue the struggle to bring the destination for the nation.
