Pakistan Ends NOC Requirement For Foreigners

ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Tuesday has ended the requirement of a no-objection certificate (NOC) for foreigners seeking to visit certain areas of Pakistan.

A notification has been issued in this regard by the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

According to the notification, foreign tourists can now visit several areas which were restricted earlier.

“AJK and GB and Chitral will be non-restricted/ non-prohibited except 10 miles of Pak-China border, Pak-Afghan border (Wakhan corridor), AJK (along LoC), GB (along LoC), Siachen (along with the line of actual contact,” the notification reads.

However the tourists are still barred from visiting some sensitive areas, the notification added.

Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry took to Twitter and informed about this land mark decision of the government.

He tweeted on his timeline; “Another landmark achieved NOC regime for foreigners come to an end, ⁦@ImranKhanPTI⁩ vision is to make Pak a heaven for tourists and following new Visa regime this important policy decision of ending NOC requirements is a leap forward #DiscoverPakistan.”
