ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of lives during an emergency landing by a Russian airliner yesterday.
In a statement, Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr. Muhammad Faisal said the people and the government of Pakistan convey their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.

“Pakistan stands by the people of Russia in their hour of grief,” he added.
It must be noted that at least 41 people on board a Russian Aeroflot passenger plane were killed on Sunday when the plane caught fire mid-air and made an emergency landing at a Moscow airport on Sunday, Russian news agencies reported.
