Pakistan, FATF Decisive Talks To Be Held From Sept 8 to 10

ISLAMABAD: The penultimate dialogues between Pakistan and the Asia-Pacific Group of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) will be held from September 8-10 in Bangkok where the inter-governmental organization will decide whether to clear Pakistan out of the FATF grey list or to move it into the blacklist.

The officials of the finance ministry, State Bank of Pakistan, Division of economic affairs, NACTA and SECP will represent the Pakistani delegation.

FATF will take a final review of the report prepared by Pakistan giving the reply of an additional 100 questions asked by the FATF.

The meeting will review the steps taken by the Pakistan government to stop illegal remittance of currency, money laundering, and financial assistance to terrorists while Pakistani officials will also brief the FATF officials over to halt banned outfits and freezing of their assets.

After the final review in the meeting, the FATF will decide the fate of Pakistan either it should be kept in grey list or ouster from it or to put Pakistan in blacklist in October.
