Pakistan T20 skipper Shahid Afridi expressed happiness over restoration of international cricket and praised positive attitude of cricket fans gathered in thousands in the cricket stadium. Zimbabwe skipper Elton Chigumbura said that Pakistanis have proved for true cricket lovers.
Drought of international cricket finally broken up in Pakistan after six years by the first T20 match against Zimbabwe in Gaddafi Stadium Lahore . Overall 345 runs were scored by both sides after playing 237 balls while Pakistani debut opener Mukhtar Ahmed became top scorer with 83 runs and declared man of the match.
PCB and its administration set up best example for restoration of international cricket that should be highly welcomed in Pakistan, Afridi said. He said that first T20 match was of Mukhtar Ahmed who exhibited outstanding performance in his debut match. He said that youngsters would be given chances in next matches.
Elton Chigumbura admitted that Pakistanis were true cricket lovers as the crowd also supported Zimbabwean players during the match. He said that the wicket was supportive for batsmen and they score good but bowlers failed to defence the target.
