Islamabad (October 25, 2018): Pakistan has strongly protested over a blasphemous tweet sent by a Dutch member of parliament.
The Dutch ambassador was summoned to Foreign Office in Islamabad and a strong protest was lodged with him.
Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua said such discriminatory acts increase violence and extremism and may lead to hatred and intolerance. She said this cannot be allowed under the garb of freedom of expression.She apprised the ambassador of Pakistani people’s strong reservations on the issue.
Tehmina Janjua demanded the Dutch government to condemn the issue and take appropriate steps to stop the occurrence of such incidents in future.
