Pakistan Lodges Protest With India Over Ceasefire Violations Along LOC

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday summoned Indian deputy high commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia at Foreign Office and condemned the unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC).

The Director-General Director General South Asia Dr. Mohammad Faisal said that Indian forces are continuously targeting civilian populated areas with heavy weapons along the LOC and the Working Boundary.

Four innocent civilians namely Muhammad Yousaf, Muhammad Shahzad, Mrs. Akbar Jaan and Mrs. Kousar Parveen were injured in Nezapir, Rakhchikri, Tattapani and Jandrot Sectors along LOC.

Similarly, an innocent teen Muhammad Attique was martyred and three women namely Fareeda Begum, Azmat Begum and Rehmat Bibi sustained injuries in Kotkottera and Khuiratta Sectors.

He further said that unprecedented escalation in ceasefire violations by India is continuing from 2017 when the Indian forces committed 1970 ceasefire violations.

“Ceasefire violations by India are a threat to regional peace and security which may lead to a strategic miscalculation,” he concluded.
