Pakistan, Maldives sign MoUs for different projects

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Maldives agreed exchange visits of high-level envoys between both countries. Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan wants peaceful ties with all neighbouring countries and willing to enhance ties with Maldives. Madives President Abdulla Yameen said that Pakistan has always proved a sincere friend to Maldives.

Pakistan, Maldives high-ups exchanged views on different sectors of health, education and various other fields during the visit while PM Nawaz and President Abdulla Yameen conducted joint news conference in Islamabad today.

PM Nawaz said that he welcomed Maldives President and his envoy in Pakistan as both countries were enjoying strong bilateral ties and talks were held to enhance coordination in all sectors. He added  that both countries would increase public-level ties besides sports, health and anti-narcotics sectors.

President Abdulla Yameen said that Pakistan and Maldives are connected with deep relations and Pakistan had provided prominent assistance to Maldives during natural disaster of Tsunami.

Earlier, President Abdulla Yameen was warmly welcomed over his arrival at PM House as PM Nawaz himself received the foreign high-up while guard of honour was also presented to the Maldives President.
