Karachi (September 08, 2018): Pakistan Navy Day is being celebrated today to pay homage to heroes of 1965 and 1971 wars with India, and with a renewed pledge to safeguard the country from any aggression.
Every year, 8th September is celebrated as ‘Pakistan Navy Day’ to commemorate Pakistan Navy’s stunning performance against a much bigger and devious enemy during 1965 War.
Today, the nation is celebrating the convincing and historic victory irreversibly crippling India in its plan to attack Karachi in 1965 war. This successful action by Pakistan Navy is known as ‘Operation Dwarka’ or ‘Operation Somnath.’
A daring raid by Pakistan Navy warships on Dwarka and bottling up of entire Indian Navy fleet by PN submarine Ghazi are the glorious reminiscences of the day.
In order to commemorate this day and to pay tributes to our Shuhada and Ghazis, whose sacrifices and gallant acts instil in us renewed spirit and unabating resolve, Pakistan Navy arranged an impressive Four Dimensional demonstration of naval capabilities at PNS Qasim, Manora Karachi.
Special ceremonies are being held at Pakistan Navy headquarters to pay homage to the martyrs who laid their lives while protecting the country from the enemy.
Quran Khawanis will be held and floral wreaths would be laid on the graves of Navy Shuhada throughout the country.
Beach Assault drills will also be performed by Pakistan Navy Special Operation Forces comprising Pak Marines and Special Service Group (Navy). Pakistan Navy Frigate, Submarine, and Missile boats will also be part of the demonstration.
