Pakistan Protests With Iran Over Ormara Incident

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Saturday lodged its protest over Ormara Bus Attack Incident with the Iranian government and handed a protest letter to the Iranian embassy in Pakistan.

As per details, the Foreign Office sent a letter of protest to the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad.

“15-20 terrorists who were in the uniforms of Frontier Corps (FC), blocked the road and stopped 3-4 buses traveling from Ormara to Gwadar on the Makran coastal highway at Buzi Top on the early morning of April 18 and on the identification of the passengers, shot dead 14 personnel belonging to the security forces of Pakistan. BRAS which is the alliance of three Baloch proscribed separatist organizations have claimed responsibility for this painful act,” the letter stated.

“After the incident, the terrorists who arrived from border region crossed the border again and returned to Iran,” it added.

The letter also stated that Pakistan “has repeatedly shared intelligence about these suspicious activities but no action was taken on the shared intelligence by the Iranian government”.

Earlier on April 18, unknown armed assailants killed 14 people who were passengers, travelling on the Markan coastal highway near Ormara late on Wednesday night.

According to security sources, the assailants halted path of all the buses either heading for or leaving Gwadar and offloaded all the passengers.

Sources added that the unidentified gunmen checked the National Identity Cards (NICs) of all the passengers before shooting them to death at point-blank range and fleeing the scene without being caught.

Security officials, upon receiving the information of the heart-rending incident, reached the highway spot and shifted dead bodies to a Naval Hospital in Ormara.

Chief Minister of Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan has condemned the killing of 14 passengers, saying that the terrorists who performed the terror bid portrayed sheer cowardice by shooting unarmed passengers.

He added that the countrywide operation to eliminate all terrorist bodies will continue at all costs.
