Pakistan To Face Bangladesh Today In “Do Or Die” Match

Abu Dhabi (September 26, 2018): Today’s match between Pakistan and Bangladesh in Asia Cup gaining importance, as the winner of the match, will take on India in the Final.

Indian team is on the top of the points table of the tournament after beating Bangladesh and Paksitan and qualified for the final. Pakistan Squad

Earlier on September 23, Pakistan suffered humiliating nine-wicket defeat against arch-rival India in the Asia Cup Super Four match at the Dubai International Stadium.Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan both scored centuries and produced a batting masterclass to hand another lop-sided defeat to Pakistan.

This was Pakistan’s second consecutive defeat against India in the Asia Cup. India has qualified for the Asia cup final.

Sharma hit four 6s and seven 4s in his unbeaten 111 off 119 balls, while Dhawan struck 100-ball 111 with the help of two 6s and sixteen 4s  to guide India to a comfortable win against Pakistan. India chased down the Pakistan target of 138 in 39.3 overs and nine wickets in hand.India opener Shikhar Dhawan ran out after hitting a century. He departed after scoring 114 runs off 100 balls including 16 boundaries and two sixes on the strike rate of 114.

 Pakistan had set India 238-run target to chase after batting first.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh won its last match by 3 runs against Afghanistan at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

While batting first after winning the toss, Bangladesh posted 249 runs for the loss of 7 wickets with the help of a terrific 128-run partnership between Mahmudullah and Imrul Kayes for the sixth wicket against Afghanistan.

Chasing a decent target of 250 valiant Afghanistan could score 246 for  7, falling 3 runs short to the target. Bangladeshi bowler restricted them in the final over in a nail-biting match.Needing eight to win off the 50th over, Afghanistan lost Rashid Khan for five off the second ball while Samiullah Shinwari (23 not out) and Gulbadin Naib managed just two leg byes to finish at 246-7.

 Bangladesh lost both Nazmul Hossain (6) and Mohammad Mithun (1) right at the start. Post the double blow, Mushfiqur Rahim and Liton Das batted cautiously, stitching a crucial 63-run partnership for the third wicket.

For Bangladesh, both Mahmudullah and Imrul Kayes notched up gritty half-centuries, taking their team to a respectable total at the end of 50 overs.

Mahmudullah (74) and Imrul played majestic knocks, taking their team out of trouble.  Towards the end, Imrul (72*) slammed some lusty blows to take his team to a decent total. Aftab Alam was the most successful for Afghanistan picking up three wickets in the match. Rashid Khan and Mujeeb ur Rehman bagged a wicket each.
