Pakistan To Take On Australia In 2nd Test Today

Abu Dhabi (October 16, 2018): Pakistan to take on Australia in the last cricket test of the two-match series in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Earlier on October 11, the first test match between Australia and Pakistan concluded on a draw.

Even though Yasir Shah took three wickets in quick succession to revive Pakistan’s hopes for victory, the lull that followed soon after made the game quite uninteresting by the last over. His third and fourth victim in the game were Mitchell Starc (1) and Peter Siddle (0) soon after he had taken the crucial wicket of set batsmen and hero of the day — Usman Khawaja.

Pakistan expected early wickets after jolting Australia to 136-3 at the close on the fourth day, but nothing worked for skipper Sarfraz Ahmed, who made multiple bowling changes.

On the other hand, Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur expects Australia to come hard at his side in the second Test in Abu Dhabi after the visitors’ inspired fightback in Dubai test.

Pakistan seemed on course to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match series when they set Australia 462 to win and reduced them 136/3 by stumps on the fourth day. The visitors refused to throw in the towel, though, and led by Usman Khawaja, Travis Head and captain Tim Paine, they held out for a draw.Arthur conceded Pakistan could have bowled better in the final innings but did not take away any credit from the visitors, particularly Khawaja, who stayed in the middle an incredible 524 minutes, scoring a 302-ball 141.Arthur also confirmed that Pakistan would be without opener Imam-ul-Haq for the second Test after he fractured his finger in the Dubai Test. “Imam has been batting very well so it’s a loss,” he said. “But that gives an opportunity to another player to show his talent.”
