Pakistan Win 2nd Test, Clinch Series By 1-0 Against Aussies

Abu Dhabi (October 19, 2018): Pakistan have defeated Australia and clinch the two match series by 1-0. Both Pakistani batting and bowling line up performed really well and contained Australia during last four days.

Earlier pacer Mohammad Abbas and spinner Yasir Shah ripped through the Australian top order on day four of the second Test against Australia.

Needing 491 more runs to win the match, Australia started their second innings on 47-1 before Abbas took four wickets in the morning session to send Aaron Finch, Travis Head, Mitch Marsh and skipper Tim Paine back to the pavilion.Not to be left behind, Yasir then took the wickets of Mitchell Starc and Peter Siddle to leave Australia on 157 for seven at lunch chasing a target of 538 runs by Pakistan.

No team has ever chased more than 418-7 to win a Test, made by the West Indies against Australia at Antigua in 2003.

On Thursday, Pakistan grabbed an early wicket after Babar Azam struck a fluent 99 while skipper Sarfraz Ahmed followed up his first-innings 94 with 81 as Pakistan declared their second innings at 400-9.By the close on the third day, Pakistan had Shaun Marsh dismissed for four — bowled by left-arm paceman Mir Hamza for his first Test wicket — to boost their chances of victory after Australia clung on for a thrilling draw in the first Test in Dubai last week.

Aaron Finch (24) and Travis Head (17) were at the crease with Australia, who resumed at 47-1 on Friday with two full days left on a weary and spinning Sheikh Zayed Stadium pitch.

The teams will play three T20 internationals after the Tests, with the first in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
