Pakistan Women Team face Worst Defeat Against West Indies

DUBAI: West Indies Women have defeated Pakistan by 46 runs taking lead of 1-0 in a three-match-series.

Pakistan women team could score 70 runs in chasing a target of 216 runs set by WI women team.

The match saw all-rounder performance of Deandra Dottin as she made 96 runs and took three wickets as well. Stafanie Taylor was second top scorer with 58 runs from WI.

The green team women could not perform well as they lose Nahida Khan by retired hurt on 23 runs. Aymen Anwar could not come to bat.

Only two players Jaweria Khan and Nahida Khan could enter double figures. Jaweria made 22 runs. Afy Fletcher from West Indies got three wickets.

Deandra Dottin declared man of the match over her all-rounder performance.

Second match of three-match series will be played on February 9.

After winning the toss earlier in the day, West Indies Women decided to bat first in the first One-day International of the three-match series.

In their quota of 50 overs, West Indies Women scored 216 runs with the loss of five wickets. Deandra Dottin of WI remained top scorer by scoring 96 runs off 139 balls.

Windies Captain Stefanie Taylor also chipped in 58 runs, but similar to Dottin’s innings it took her massive amount of ball, as she scored them on 97 deliveries before falling prey to Kainat Imtiaz.

Pakistan bowler Kainat Imtiaz starred for Pakistan as she gave 49 runs off 9 overs, picking three vital and timely wickets of the West Indies Women team.

Whereas, Aimen Anwer remained the most economical bowler by giving away only 14 runs in five overs at a run-rate of 2.80.
