Pakistani 30-member Team Embarks For Abu Dhabi 2019 Special Olympics

LAHORE: A 30-member team from Pakistan has departed from Lahore to participate in 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games held in Abu Dhabi.

In total, from Pakistan, around 147-member team is taking part in this multi-sport event for athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Vice Chairman Special Olympics Pakistan Anis ur Rehman is heading the 30-member team which is looking forward to competing in the International event.

On this occasion, he said, “We are heading into the event with complete preparation and we will fulfil the expectations. Sports Board Punjab cooperated very well with us in preparing the participants.”

The 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games will commence from March 14 at Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Around 7000 special athletes are expected to take part in this prestigious event. It will carry on for a week, ending on March 21.
