Pakistani schoolboys arrested by India over Uri attack return

LAHORE: The two Pakistani schoolboys, who were arrested last year by Indian Army on charges of facilitating Uri attack, reached Lahore.

Earlier, the boys Faisal Hussain Awan and Ahsan Khursheed, were handed over to  officials of Pakistan High Commission at Amritsar Attari border.

The two boys, residents of a village along the Line of Control, had strayed into Held-Kashmir on September 21, 2016, were arrested by Indian army and branded them as facilitator of Uri attackers.

India attempted to implicate Pakistan in Uri attack, branding the school children as facilitators of the attackers. But the attempts miserably failed as Indian investigative agencies cleared the children of all charges.

On Wednesday, the Indian investigation agencies absolved the school boys of all charges and handed them over to the Indian army’s 16 Corps to send them back to Pakistan.
