WASHINGTON: There are five big issues that threaten the American security and one of them is Pakistan’s nuclear program, US State Department’s deputy spokesperson Robert Palladino said on Tuesday.
Addressing a presser in Washington, Robert Palladino affirmed that the United States and Pakistan need to elevate their relations at present.
When asked about how Pakistan’s nuclear strength is among major threats to the country, Robert affirmed that Nuclear proliferation of any sort is United States’s priority concern articulated in its National Security Strategy.
He added that both countries to elevate confidence and trust between them.
“We want to see a prosperous Pakistan that contributes positively towards regional stability and security”, he concluded.
Commenting on Pakistan’s significant role in brokering peace talks in Afghanistan, the deputy spokesperson said, “Pakistan could play an important role in bringing about a negotiated settlement in Afghanistan, and something that we’re thankful for.”
