LAHORE: An accountability court in Lahore will hear Paragon City scandal case on Saturday while former railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Salman Rafique will be presented before the court after completion of seven-day physical remand.
Earlier on January 19, the NAB court extended physical remand of the Khawaja brothers for seven days and directed to produce them before the court on January 26.
While addressing media persons outside court, Khawaja Saad Rafique said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government has made everything very difficult, however, the phase will be ended and the time will be changed. He predicted the attitude of the PTI government indicated that it will not be able to complete the tenure.
On December 11 last year, the accountability court had rejected pleas of Khawaja brothers seeking interim-bail and later the accused in three cases of Paragon housing scandal were arrested by the authorities.
Khawaja Saad Rafique is facing allegations of direct connections with Paragon Society while the scheme was launched by Punjab Land Development Company. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) stated in the reference that both brothers took advantage from Paragon Housing Society while 40 kanal land was also found in possession of the Khawajas.
