Lahore (August 15, 2017): Raising objections on the nomination papers, filed by former first lady Kulsoom Nawaz for by-elections on NA-120, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has challenged the document submitted by her with the Election Commission of Pakistan.
According to details the leader of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Ishtiaq Chaudhry has submitted the objections against Kulsoom Nawaz to returning officer Muhammad Shahid.
The election commission of Pakistan de-notified Nawaz Sharif from NA-120 after the Supreme Court decision of his disqualification, PML-N has fielded Kulsoom Nawaz, spouse of former PM Nawaz Sharif, as its candidate for NA-120.
In petition, complainant claimed that PML-N has registered in the name of Nawaz Sharif and he has been declared disqualified, secondly Kulsoom Nawaz did not attach Iqama with her nomination papers, therefore election commission should reject nomination papers.
Earlier, PPP raising the objections on Kulsoom Nawaz nomination papers has submitted plea against Kulsoom Nawaz with election commission. The PPP requested that Kulsoom Nawaz did not attach Iqama- a United Arab work place visa- agreement with her nomination papers.
The by-elections in NA-120, the seat fell vacant after former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was disqualified by the apex court in Panama papers case on July 28, will be held on September 17.
Ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has nominated Kulsoom Nawaz its candidate for the aforementioned seat.
