PCB Cautions PSL Players Against Making Contact With Bookies

LAHORE: The Anti-Corruption unit of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued instructions to all domestic and foreign players participating in the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) for being very aware of the bookies.

According to details, the Anti-Corruption unit has directed the players to inform the pertaining authorities and team management on an immediate basis when approached by a bookie.

PCB’s Anti-Corruption unit has stated that many bookies are in Dubai seeking to offer hefty amounts to players in PSL.

It is noteworthy to mention that last year, during third edition of PSL 03, the Anti-Corruption Tribunal sanctioned Sharjeel Khan with a five-year ban with two and a half years suspended, after he was found guilty of all five match-fixing charges filed by the PCB.

On Tuesday, Pakistan Super League 2019 trophy unveiling ceremony took place at the Dubai International Stadium in presence of team owners, captains and PCB Chairman, Ehsan Mani.

The captains of the six franchises posed with the tournament trophy at the Dubai International Stadium outfield at the end of the press conference.

Beautiful trophies for best bowler, best batsman, best wicketkeeper and player of the tournament were also revealed during the ceremony.

All six captains of the franchises held a joint press conference in a light mood, where they cracked jokes, teased each other and also stressed on the importance and quality of the tournament.
