PCB Fines Umar Akmal for Late Night Outing During Australia ODIs

LAHORE: Pakistan’s middle-order batsman Umar Akmal was fined 20 percent of his match fee and has also received an official reprimand for a late night outing after a fourth ODI against Australia in Dubai.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in its statement said that Akmal pleaded guilty to the charge, apologised for his actions and accepted the sanction proposed by the team manager.

The PCB will not be making any further comment on this matter, the statement added.

A video clip emerged on social media showing Umar having a late night outing after Pakistan had lost the fourth ODI in Dubai, following which a debate stirred on whether the batsman had shown indiscipline or his personal life should be respected.
