Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority (PEMRA) has decided that the license of channels airing Indian content would be suspended or revoked.
PEMRA decision came in a meeting held on Monday which said that authority has given powers to PEMRA chairman to suspend the license of TV channel that aired the Indian content without issuing show cause notice or hearing.
PEMRA said in its statement that the code of conduct regarding Indian content has been announced on August 31 and now its implementation would be taken place from October 16 as authority could take action over violation indiscriminately.
” Pakistani are intensively demanding the ban on Indian drama and channels amid rising tension between Pakistan and Indian on borders,” it said.
