KARACHI: The people who went to Balochistan Island Astola, near Pasni, have been trapped after rough weather in the sea on Thursday.
Additional deputy commissioner Gwadar Anees Gorgage said that over 10 people including few lawyers have been trapped in the area. He said the people were at the island since December 31 to celebrate the new year but trapped in the island due storm like weather and could not return.
“Rescue teams facing inclement weather to reach the trapped people as they did not get the NOC to visit the island,” additional deputy commissioner told.
According to information, the trapped people told the situation to their families over the cell phone on which authorities started rescue activities.
