PESHAWAR: Federal Investigation Agency on Saturday recovered a huge amount of foreign currency in an action carried out in Board Bazar of the city while two persons were also arrested in the action.
FIA sources said that the anti-crime agency raided a currency market in the Board Bazar in the supervision of its director Akhter Hayyat Gandapur where illegal trade of hundi and others had been continued since long.
The FIA team recovered Rs 6.4 million besides 8000 US dollars, 4000 Chinese Yen, 30,000 Riyal, 30,000 Derhum, 7000, Euro and Afghan currency in huge number as well while it also has arrested two persons named Ghagar and Zulfiqar in the raid.
According to FIA, no one will be tolerated if found in dumping dollars and illegal trade of hundi while it has initiated an investigation against the accused after lodging an FIR under currency act.
