National flag carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is reportedly close to signing contract with American commercial aircraft manafacturer Boeing to purchase eight 787s Boeing aircrafts.
According to a US news report Boeing is close to selling the aircrafts to the PIA after a high-level lobbying and sales campaign by Boeing Commercial Airplanes President and CEO Ray Conner himself.
According to media reports Boeing could begin delivering the wide-body jets by middle of next year.
Reported to be worth at least $1.8 billion, the new aircraft order would help the airline double its fleet and launch direct service to New York.
