Karachi (July 4, 2017): Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) management will sell the A-310 aircraft which was earlier sold by its previous management to a German company at throwaway price.
The former management of PIA led by , a German national, had sold the plane to a German company for peanut.
The former CEO and other high up are currently facing corruption investigation over the sale of the aircraft.
Sources in PIA said that the airline would re-sell the aircraft by giving fresh advertisement in the newspapers.
It is to be mentioned here that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) was investigating the scam. During its investigation it was revealed that the aircraft was sold and handed over to the German company even before opening of the tender.
FIA sources said that in October 2016 offers were sought from interested parties by December 12, 2016 for the sale A-310 plane. But the aircraft was sold even before the last date given in advertisement.
