ISLAMABAD: A special flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) from Karachi airport left for Toronto on Thursday as passengers lauded government and PIA for the step.
The authorities allowed the PIA to operate the two flights on the request of the Canadian government.
The Canadian High Commission had provided a list of passengers after which the PIA issued tickets to them.
Flight PK-783 left from Karach carrying Canadian nationals on board.
According to a PIA’s spokesperson Abdullah Khan, the passengers were properly screened before their flights.
According to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the flight will land on Islamabad airport in return as all the passengers will go through the corona test and after the confirmation from the health counter they would be shifted to quarantine.
The planes and luggage were sprayed with a disinfectant in the presence of PIA officials.
It was ensured that the passengers wore masks.
