Plea bargain law helps recover money from plunderers: NAB Chairman

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau Qamar Zaman Chaudhry said that plea bargain law helps recover money from plunderers and helpful in investigations.

While talking to media he said that according to the section 25(b) of National Accountability Ordinance every criminal is bound to place a request for plea bargain.

NAB Chairman said that plea bargain served after the approval the court. He said that NAB is performing its duties within the domain of the constitution and added that negative propaganda against NAB should be ended.

Qamar Zaman Chaudhry said that news circulating in media about Rs 40 billion corruption scam in Balochistan is baseless. He said that Balochistan corruption scandal was of Rs 2.2 billion. The money is embezzled from development funds of Machh and Khaliqueabad.

He said that NAB is preparing reference against ex- finance advisor to Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Khalid Lango. NAB Chairman said that Lango is the key suspect in Balochistan corruption scandal. He said that property worth above one billion rupees was seized and above two billion rupees recovered from former Finance Secretary Mushtaq Raisani and Sohail Majeed Shah.

Qamar Zaman Chaudhry continued that Mushtaq Raisani and Sohail Majeed Shah will testify in the court against key accused Khalid Lango.
