PM Abbasi Arrives Quetta With Mission To Save Zehri Govt

Quetta (January 08, 2018): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has arrived Quetta with a mission to save Sanaullah Zehri’s provincial govt.  The Crucial Balochistan Assembly Session is going to decide the fate of CM Balochistan tomorrow.

According to the sources, he will meet with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz lawmakers, who seem to be abandoning their leader — Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri.

According to the details, after completing Sialkot visit, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has arrived in Quetta for quick visit, where he will be meeting several law makers in order to save PML N Government in Balochistan, which is in doldurms since the no confidence motion has been moved against CM Sanaullah Zehri recently.It has been learnt that the opposition parties have refused to meet the premier, and also asked Zehri to resign. Furthermore, the dissenters have advised Shahid Khaqan Abbasi not to come to Balochistan.

Zmarak Khan Achakzai maintained that a new alliance has been established, and asked why the government not contacted them for four and a half years.

Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti has claimed that the number of dissenting MPAs of Balochistan has gone 41 against CM Sanaullah Zehri.Earlier, a group of ministers addressed a press conference in the provincial capital and claimed that number of ministers who have reservations over CM Zehri leading the provincial government would rise.

Former advisor to Balochistan chief minister (CM) Prince Ahmed Ali said that decision of the dissenting ministers would not change with Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s possible visit to Balochistan to resolve the political crisis.Earlier on Sunday, Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri has contacted Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief Nawaz Sharif and conveyed that his ally Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman was playing active role in current Balochistan political conspiracy.

Zehri told Nawaz that a no-confidence motion against him can have an impact on the results of the upcoming general elections.Former PM said that some powerful elements were busy hatching conspiracies to prevent the upcoming elections of the upper house of parliament.

Nawaz Sharif said he had asked Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to look into the matter and handle the crisis amicably.

The government has increased efforts to resolve a brewing crisis in the province after provincial lawmakers submitted a no-confidence motion against Zehri last week, followed be resignations of several provincial cabinet members.Federal ministers Khurram Dastagir and Abdul Qadir Baloch, and Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai called on Zehri in Quetta on Sunday evening.

Dastagir discussed the present political situation, law and order and other affairs pertaining to the province with the chief minister, as per sources.

The meeting was also attended by chief minister’s adviser Obaidullah Babat.Dastagir assured Zehri of support from the federal government and the PML-N.

The PkMAP chief, in his meeting with the chief minister, discussed the overall political scenario in Balochistan.

Minister of State for Petroleum Jam Kamal was also part of the meeting.

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) representative and provincial lawmaker Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has claimed that as many as 40 legislators will vote for the no-confidence motion against Zehri.

Bizenjo said that PML-N leader Changez Marri has also rendered his support for the no-confidence motion.Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Balochistan chief minister said that those claiming to have the support of 40 MPAs could not gather more than 20 legislators at their recently held dinner meeting.

Zehri has reportedly said that he will fight against the no-confidence motion and will prove his support in the house.

The no-confidence motion, which was submitted by Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and Syed Agha Raza, was signed by a total of 14 parliamentarians and submitted on January 2.Later, the chief minister’s adviser Prince Ahmad Ali Ahmadzai, Fisheries Minister Mir Sarfraz Domki and Home Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti submitted their resignations.

This was followed by resignations from two more cabinet members, a provincial minister and the chief minister’s adviser.
