PM Abbasi Leaves for Pakistan, FM Asif Leaves For US

London (December 14, 2017): The Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has left for Pakistan on Thursday from London to wrapping up his foreign visit.

Prime minister left London along with staff and his two sons, while CM Punjab will stay in London for two to three days more as the foreign minister Khawaja Asif has left for US.

Earlier today, the prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi dismissed the apprehension regarding early dissolution of assemblies expressed by National Assembly speaker Ayaz Sadiq and said that government will complete its constitutional term and elections would be held on time.

“The government will complete its tenure and elections will be held on time,” said the prime minister, reiterating the government’s stance.

The premier further said that Ayaz Sadiq’s statement was his personal opinion and he is independent as the speaker of the national assembly.

A day ago, Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq warned that he feared the present government could not complete its constitutional term.

Before the media talk in London,  Prime Minister Abbasi along with Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif and foreign minister Khawaja Asif met with deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif and discussed the country’s political situation.

Along with the prime minister, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif also arrived at Hasan Nawaz’s office in London to meet party leader and former premier Nawaz Sharif.

Nawaz’s daughter Maryam, Shehbaz’s son Salman, and other members of the family are also present at the meeting.
