New York (September 20, 2017): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi met with United States Vice President Michael Richard Pence on the sidelines of the 72nd session of United Nations General Assembly in New York today.
US Vice President Michael Richard Pence welcomed PM Abbasi and extended good wishes. Matters of mutual interest, regional, international and other issues came under discussion in the meeting.
Michael Pence said that US sought long-term partnership with Pakistan for regional peace and security. The US Vice President said that they gave great importance to ties with Pakistan.
While PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that they wanted to continue cooperation against terrorism.
Earlier, PM Abbasi meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan here in New York. Both the leaders met in General Assembly Head Quarters and discussed various issues related to bilateral and regional importance.
They agreed upon the revival of the Pakistan-Afghanistan-Turkey Trilateral process for promoting lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan.
