PM Abbasi Chairs Federal Cabinet Meeting Today

Islamabad (April 25, 2018): A meeting of Federal Cabinet has started in Islamabad with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the chair.

The meeting will consider several agenda items including signing of MoUs with foreign countries on mutual cooperation.

As per the agenda of the meeting, important political and social issues will be addressed in the meeting along with 18 other points.

The signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoUs) with foreign countries on mutual cooperation is expected to be a part of the meeting.Moreover, the prime minister will also be briefing the cabinet about the upcoming budget and the annual development projects in the country.

The annual budget for the year 2018 – 2019 which will be announced on Friday 27 is expected to be of over Rs2,000 billion according to the Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal.

On Monday, during the annual session of the Plan Coordination Committee, Iqbal approved the recommendations for the federal and provincial development budget that had been put forward.

In the session, it was agreed upon that the sectors such as energy, infrastructure, human resources, and education will be a priority in the development budget.Moreover, the federal minister had said that the overall development budget including that of provinces will be of more than Rs2,000 billion.

Moreover, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak chaired a session of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly on Wednesday.

During the session, the upcoming budget was discussed as well as the Suki Kinari Hydropower Station project. The go-ahead for the project was given at the meeting.

The CM also announced that a monthly stipend will also be given to minority leaders.
