PM Meets Nawaz To Discuss Caretaker PM Name, Budget

London (April 21, 2018): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Saturday met the former Prime Minister and PML-N Supreme Leader Nawaz Sharif in London. They will discuss issues pertaining to the interim prime minister and the final budget, which would be presented by the incumbent PML-N government.

The former prime minister along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz is in London to visit his ailing wife Kusloom Nawaz, who is undergoing treatment at London hospital. The incumbent prime minister along with federal ministers was also in London to attend the Common Wealth Conference.

The meeting between the two is continuing at the office of Hassan Nawaz, where discussions would be made on the interim setup, which would be installed after the PML-N led federal government expires on May 31.

The prime minister would inform Nawaz Sharif regarding his consultations with Opposition Leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah over the issue and it is likely that a final decision would be made on the names put forwarded by the opposition parties in today’s meeting.Shahid Khaqan Abbasi would also take the former premier into confidence over the budget preparations and running the government affairs till last day of the government tenure on May 31.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, the wife of Chief Minister Punjab Nusrat Shehbaz had left for London to visit ailing Kulsoom Nawaz and would reside there for 20 days. The chief minister, who also had to visit London, along with his wife was unable to go due to his busy schedule.Furthermore the chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Imran Khan left for London today on four-day visit to take part in a fund raising ceremony.

Imran Khan will attend fund raising campaign in Manchester, chair Overseas party meetings and also discuss important issues with party leaders.
