WASHINGTON: In the meetings with US leadership, Prime Minister Imran Khan made it clear that Pakistan seeks to revive trade with the United States and not any sort of aid, said Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Tuesday.
Addressing a news conference in Washington, the Foreign Minister claimed that US President had expressed desire to form an extended partnership with Pakistan pertaining to trade relations.
Reflecting on the meeting at Oval Office which had the undivided attention of the world, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that it was divided into three sessions since it was 40-minutes long.
“Comprehensive and very open talks took place in all sessions. Pakistan’s case was rolled out in a thorough manner. Delegations of both countries were present in the third meeting session”, Qureshi said.
“Donald Trump termed Pakistanis as great people and defined PM Imran Khan a good man after lauding his leadership”.
“The meeting between Prime Minister Imran Khan and US President Donald Trump demonstrated joint resolve to promote peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan”, Foreign Minister added.
He concluded that the meeting also conveyed commitment to promote peace in South Asia and US President Trump has expressed his facilitation role in resolving the Kashmir issue.
