Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday appeared before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the missing persons case.
A hearing of the missing persons case is underway at the IHC while Chief Justice Athar Minallah is hearing the case.
Federal Ministers for Law, Information and broadcasting Azam Nazeer Tarrar and Maryam Aurangzaib respectively were also accompany the PM.
The CJ IHC Athar Minallah said that the missing persons are a major problem as missing persons cases have been in pending in the IHC for long adding that the court will see law and constitution.
The honourable CJ said to the PM, it is not look good we call you (PM) in the court adding that you are an elected premier while he said that if someone is missing who be declared responsible for the missing person.
The CJ said that the court has complete trust on you, apprise the solution of the missing persons case while Athar Minallah questioned that has the country’s institutions made state within the state?
The CJ Athar Minallah said that it seems that it is unannounced policy of the state to make people missing.
He said that as per the law and constitution all the responsibility lies on the chief executive (PM).
The CJ welcomed the committee constituted by the PM over the missing persons.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, during the course of the hearing said that he has appeared before the court on the orders of the court.
The PM apprised that he met family members of the missing persons, a small child said that to him, arrange meeting with his beloved father, while the PM said that the child questions always gives him tease.
The premier ensured that he will get meeting of missing persons with their families.
Shahbaz Sharif further said that he will to leave no stone unturned for resolving the matter of missing persons. He will supervise every meeting of the missing persons committee and present the report in the court after making the report on the missing persons which will be based on fact not a story.
