PM chairs apex committee session in Governor House

KARACHI: During the meeting, PM Nawaz Sharif said that firm decisions to be taken for secure Pakistan and whole nation eyed results of the National Action Plan (NAP).

PM Nawaz said that the government was willing to uproot terrorism from the country which would only be possible through joint strategies.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was chairing the apex committee session in Governor House Karachi to exchange views for implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) in Sindh.

The apex committee session is being attended by Governor Sindh Ishratul Ebad Khan, Chief Minister of Sindh Qaim Ali Shah, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG-ISPR) Rizwan Akhtar, DG Intelligence Bureau Aftab Sultan, Former President Asif Ali Zardari and various other high-level officials.

Provincial action plan, targeted operation and other matters came into discussion in the session to establish peacefulness and political stability in the province.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is visiting the metropolis of Pakistan, Karachi, to review progress of ongoing targeted operation. Chief Minister of Sindh Qaim Ali Shah had welcomed PM Nawaz Sharif at the Karachi Airport on Monday.

Before commencement of apex committee session in Governor House, PM Nawaz Sharif also paid visits to Rangers Headquarter and Corps Headquarter to review progress of ongoing targeted operation in the metropolis and Sindh province.

Director General (DG) Rangers Major General Bilal Akbar briefed PM Nawaz Sharif regarding targeted operations against criminals and terrorists in the metropolis of Pakistan. PM Nawaz Sharif expressed his satisfaction on developments made in the operation.

PM Nawaz Sharif also visited Corps Headquarter and held meeting with Corps Commander Lieutenant Naveed Mukhtar who briefed him about targeted operations continued across Sindh.

Lt. Gen. Naveed Mukhtar apprised PM Nawaz Sharif that targeted operation was being conducted in three zones of Sindh. DG Rangers was heading operation in ‘Karachi Zone’, GCO Hyderabad in ‘Hyderabad Zone’ and GCO Pano Akil was leading operation in ‘Sukkur Zone’.
