ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Saturday directed the Ministry of Water and Power to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply across the country during the Christmas festivities.
According to a spokesman of Prime Minister’s House, the Prime Minister has directed the Ministry has been instructed to observe zero load-shedding till tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the special Christmas Peace Train launched by Pakistan Railways aimed at spreading the message of love, peace and harmony to help counter religious intolerance, reached Lahore.
Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique last Thursday inaugurated ‘Xmas Peace Train’. The train will reach Karachi after its country-wide journey on December 31, 2016.
Through this initiative, Pakistan Railways hopes to create awareness about inter-faith harmony in the country and to mark Christmas as well as the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The Christmas Train has been launched in collaboration with Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, Pakistan Railways and Human Rights Division.
